Born and raised in Honolulu, Doreen received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, and subsequently earned her professional diploma in Special Education.
As a college student, Doreen worked for Villa Roma — a contemporary women’s apparel store — where she began in the stockroom. It was there that she realized that business operations appealed to her more than her college major. She remained with the company for 22 years, during which time she rose to the position of business manager.
Following her six-year introduction to the industry at Seafood Hawaii, Inc., Doreen joined the Alan Wong’s ‘ohana in 1999. As the company’s Controller responsible for the integrity of the organization’s financial data, Doreen says “I thrive on balancing to the penny and making sure everything is in its proper place. If you do it right the first time, you don’t have to worry about having to do it over again.” pau
