Kerry was born and raised in Honolulu. From the age of 15, he worked at Sun’s Diner and, upon graduating from the Kamehameha Schools, moved on to the Hyatt Regency Waikiki as a host/busboy/waiter at the Musashi Restaurant where he learned the basics of the hospitality industry. It was there that he found it much more interesting than his pursuit of a degree in Biology at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
Kerry’s managerial experiences include the Orchids, Lewers Lounge, and House Without a Key at the Halekulani Hotel, then Cabanas Seaside Grill at the Kahala Mandarin Oriental. In January 2004, he decided to explore life outside of the hotel industry and joined Alan Wong’s Honolulu where he is currently one of the restaurant managers. pau
