Gerald Tom was born and raised in Honolulu and graduated from St. Louis High School in 1985. He then attended Chaminade University and the University of Hawaii pursuing a degree in Communication.
Gerald began his career in the Food & Beverage industry as a bus person & waiter at Oahu Country Club while in college. He worked there for three years until he finished college, and began his career in education as a teacher at St. Ann's School in Kaneohe. For six years, he taught in a wide range of subjects ranging from Physical Education & Video Arts to Computers & Social Studies.
While still teaching, Gerald completed Bartending School and returned to where it all started at Oahu Country Club as an on-call bartender. He moved up the ranks from an on-call to full-time bartender, then eventually to a Floor Manager in the dining room.
In 2000, Gerald left the teaching profession to work full-time in the Food & Beverage Industry. After three years at Oahu Country Club, Gerald worked as a Bar/Accounting Manager at Luana Hills Country Club.
In February 2007 Gerald joined the Alan Wong's Pineapple Room Management Team and is very thankful for the opportunity to learn and advance his career in the Food & Beverage Industry.
