Why did you want to be a chef?
Growing up, I was a very picky eater and now it's hard for me to pick out food that I won't eat. With that being said, I would always observe and try to help my mom in the kitchen so my love for food came from her. Lasagna was my favorite pasta that she made so I never miss out when she made that for dinner. It wasn't until after high school that I figured if I loved food that much why not go to school and learn how to do it right.
What is the best thing that you've eaten in Hawaii that you've never experienced anywhere else?
Years ago we took a family vacation to Oahu and one morning for breakfast we stopped in at this small diner. Most of my family got pancakes, waffles or an egg dish of some sort. I was all about trying something different than what they got so I got this dish called "Loco Moco". First of all I loved the name so it got my attention right away. It was delicious !! The rice, the hamburger patty, the egg, and the rich brown gravy. It had it all!!!
I have no special talent, I'm only passionately curious. - Albert Einstein
