We figured that, out of a 32-hour period, we were sitting and eating for 16 of those hours.

Dinner at Lincoln Restaurant was with Chef Jonathan Benno and his contemporary Italian menu. It was so different from the previous meals we had just had in the city, and was very delicious, in fact, outstanding. JB was in Hawaii for a little bit and that's where I met him, at the Canoehouse when he hadn't even started his career yet. He remembers me telling him to go NYC and work. He did and what an outstanding career he has had so far. JB is allowing us to work out of his kitchen for the James Beard Foundation's Award Gala so we will see him again tomorrow.
