Grant Sato, chef instructor at KCC, TV host, coach of the KCC competition team, came to teach us two things: Homemade tofu, and his Okinawan soki soup. I always like making things from scratch. I saw tofu being made in huge quantities out in Wahiawa at Honda Tofu, and it was great to see it as if you were at home making it. For the soki soup, he made homemade noodles. I love noodles of all types and especially handmade ones. For some of the staff, it was an eye opener and the first time they'd ever seen anything like it. It also shows that we should never think that we have learned it all, that we always can learn something new everyday.
